Verena Seberg's collection includes scrapbooks and photographs, anniversary materials and convention materials for retired nurses and military personnel and for those who had served in WWII, personnel information for both Verena and her husband Marco while they served in the Army and Air Force, 1953 President Eisenhower inauguration materials, speeches and articles written by Verena Zeller, correspondence and cards, newspaper clippings and other printed materials, and other such documents. The information particularly covers her years at Fort Riley and her career in the Army and Air Force, though there are also some personal materials as well.

Verena Zeller Seberg achieved the rank of Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, one of only three women with this rank during the military action in Korea in 1950-1953. She was the first appointed Chief of the U.S. Air Force Nursing Corps. Born in 1912 in Paxico, Wabaunsee County, she received her nursing training at the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Topeka and graduated in 1934.
